The E2EE firewall
No ad targeting, AI processing, or analytics ever ingests your chat plaintext. Chat AI either runs on your device or does not exist. This is enforced in the architecture — the systems that could look are never handed the keys.
What's encrypted
1:1 and group messages (Matrix Megolm; MLS for large spaces), voice-note transcription (happens on your device), encrypted backups in the .sutra format, and your notes on protected documents.
What we can see — honestly
The metadata needed to run the service: message delivery routing, moderation reports you file, and the commerce transactions you make. We list it plainly because trust needs the whole sentence, not just the comfortable half.
Ads without surveillance
Ads on the free tier target context only — the surface, your region, a group's category. Never message content. Private rooms are ad-free, period.
Your data is portable
Export your data, take an encrypted .sutra backup, or delete your account with one tap — deletion runs through an audited erasure pipeline.
